Thailand has taken a significant step to enhance its border security by completing the first 1.3-kilometer segment of a permanent fence along its boundary with Cambodia. The newly constructed section is located in Chanthaburi province and features reinforced concrete panels topped with both steel mesh and concertina wire, designed to withstand small-arms fire, according to Thai military officials.

This extension will connect with the completed section as officials assess suitable locations for the project along the sprawling 817-kilometer Thailand-Cambodia border.
