Xiaomi is making significant strides in expanding its reach beyond its core smartphone business, evolving into a comprehensive technology powerhouse with diverse offerings spanning home automation, transport, and digital services. Central to this transformation is its “Human x Car x Home” strategy, which aims to create a seamless, interconnected ecosystem that integrates various facets of everyday life.

In a recent move, Xiaomi has ventured into the network-attached storage (NAS) sector by launching the Xiaomi Smart Storage device. Available in 4TB, 8TB, and 16TB models, this device quickly gained traction, amassing over 30,000 orders within the first hour of its crowdfunding launch. Beyond storage solutions, the device is equipped with capabilities for multi-device backups, remote file access, 4K media streaming, and AI-enhanced photo management.

The company’s product lineup has expanded significantly, now encompassing a variety of gadgets and appliances. Xiaomi’s offerings include not only smartphones and televisions but also tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, air purifiers, routers, home appliances, smart lighting, gaming monitors, electric scooters, coffee machines, portable printers, and electric vehicles.

At the core of this ecosystem lies HyperOS, Xiaomi’s proprietary software platform that facilitates connectivity across home and vehicle devices. The company’s goal is to deliver a seamless user experience while maintaining affordability and accessibility for its products. This strategy has resulted in robust financial performance, with Xiaomi reporting 99.1 billion yuan in revenue and a net income of 4.72 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2026. The full 2025 financial year saw a record adjusted net profit of 39.2 billion yuan.

In the electric vehicle market, Xiaomi has also marked significant achievements, with 600,000 vehicles delivered since its entry into the sector. The company anticipates total deliveries to reach 550,000 units by the close of 2026. By merging consumer electronics, smart-home devices, digital infrastructure, and electric vehicles, Xiaomi is solidifying its position as one of the most ambitious tech companies globally.
