Cambodia is advancing its logistics and transportation infrastructure reforms to enhance its trade competitiveness and integration into regional and global supply chains. This initiative, spearheaded by Prime Minister Hun Manet, was a focal point of a recent Council of Ministers meeting dedicated to assessing progress in these areas.
The government is guided by the Comprehensive Master Plan on the Cambodian Intermodal Transport and Logistics System 2023–2033. This strategic framework outlines the development of 174 projects across various sectors, including roads, railways, waterways, ports, aviation, and intermodal transport. The plan aims to modernize Cambodia’s infrastructure to reduce transit costs and improve connectivity between domestic markets and international trade corridors.
By upgrading its transport infrastructure, Cambodia seeks to support key industries such as manufacturing and agro-processing, attract foreign investment, and bolster its role in regional and global trade networks. The reforms are expected to facilitate a smoother flow of goods, enhancing the country’s appeal as a competitive trade partner.
Officials are actively examining ways to streamline supply chains and trade routes to further integrate Cambodia into the international market. These efforts are part of a broader government strategy to leverage improved logistics to foster economic growth and development.
