Indonesia is gearing up for a significant role as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026, aiming to draw investment, forge technology partnerships, and foster industrial cooperation throughout the Eurasian region. The event, slated for July 6–9, 2026, in Yekaterinburg, Russia, will serve as a platform for Indonesian businesses and government officials to showcase the country’s evolving industrial strategy and opportunities. Central to this initiative is Indonesia’s New National Industrialization Strategy (SBIN), designed to boost competitiveness and sustainability in its manufacturing sector while aligning with the “Golden Indonesia 2045” development goals.
The SBIN framework addresses pivotal areas such as digitalization, energy transition, and the shifting dynamics of global supply chains. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasizes that this strategy is crafted to create lucrative opportunities for international partners, focusing on investment, technology transfer, and industrial capacity building. The strategy zeroes in on four core areas: enhancing value-added production from natural resources, advancing technology through the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, promoting green industrialization, and bolstering industrial human resources.
Indonesia intends to bring over 50 industrial companies to the exhibition, facilitating dialogues with potential partners from Eurasia. A primary focus will be on industrial technology cooperation, with opportunities for companies in machinery, automation, petrochemicals, and advanced materials to engage with Indonesian manufacturers aiming to modernize their production processes. This will be complemented by investment prospects in industrial parks, downstream processing, and supply-chain development, particularly in strategic minerals like nickel, bauxite, copper, cobalt, and lithium, which are crucial for Indonesia’s downstream industrial growth.
The agricultural and food-processing sectors also offer significant cooperation avenues. Through the AGRO pavilion, Indonesia will present opportunities in food-processing technologies, logistics, distribution, and access to regional markets. Indonesia’s manufacturing base, one of Southeast Asia’s largest, adds weight to its participation at the event. The Ministry of Industry reports that the nation’s manufacturing value added reached about $265 billion, ranking it 13th globally, with non-oil and gas manufacturing exports at $147.9 billion as of August 2025, accounting for nearly 80% of total exports.
Tri Supondy, Director General of Industrial Resilience, Regional Development, and International Industrial Access, asserts that Indonesia’s presence at INNOPROM is intended to solidify its position as a long-term industrial partner for Eurasian economies. The exhibition is anticipated to provide a platform for Indonesian and Eurasian companies to explore investment projects, technology transfers, and supply-chain partnerships across various manufacturing sectors, reinforcing Indonesia’s strategic industrial ambitions.
